The Turning Point

In 1984, Ey had a life-changing experience. He was driving home from work one night when he saw a homeless man begging for money. Ey stopped his car and gave the man some money.

As Ey drove away, he couldn't stop thinking about the homeless man. He realized that there were millions of people in the world who were struggling to survive, and he wanted to do something to help.

Founding Do Gooders

Ey quit his job and founded Do Gooders in 1985. Do Gooders is a nonprofit organization that provides free food to the homeless in Los Angeles.

Ey started out by cooking meals in his own kitchen and distributing them to homeless people on the streets. As Do Gooders grew, Ey rented a small warehouse where he could cook larger meals.

Today, Do Gooders has a staff of over 50 employees and volunteers who prepare and distribute over 1,000 meals a day. Do Gooders also provides other services to the homeless, such as job training and housing assistance.
